Terms and conditions of service

ACCESS TO THE BUSES

Art. 1 – Passengers must always board through the front door and exit through the rear door.

Art. 2 – Passengers must present a valid travel ticket to the hostess. Tickets may be purchased from authorized sales points. If a passenger does not have a valid ticket, one must be purchased from the hostess on board.

Art. 3 – The hostess is responsible for validating tickets and may refuse boarding to passengers without a valid ticket or to those who refuse to purchase or validate one.

Art. 4 – Boarding and alighting are permitted only at authorized stops and in accordance with the designated boarding and exit procedures.

Art. 5 – Boarding is not permitted once the maximum passenger capacity specified in the vehicle registration certificate has been reached.

ACCESSIBILITY

Art. 6 – Wheelchair users and passengers with reduced mobility are entitled to free access to the bus, provided that the designated wheelchair space is not already occupied by another wheelchair user.

TRAVEL TICKETS

Art. 7 – Tickets are personal, non-transferable, and must be kept intact for the entire validity period, as they also serve as a fiscal receipt.

Art. 8 – Passengers must present their ticket upon request by authorized inspection personnel, who are protected under Article 336 of the Italian Penal Code.

Art. 9 – During ticket inspections, passengers may be required to present a valid identification document. Refusal to provide identification may result in intervention by law enforcement authorities and prosecution under Article 651 of the Italian Penal Code. False statements regarding one’s own or another person’s identity are punishable under Article 496 of the Italian Penal Code.

ON-BOARD EQUIPMENT

Art. 10 – Upon boarding, passengers must collect a set of earphones from the hostess for use throughout the validity of the tour.

Art. 11 – Passengers making multiple journeys, as permitted by their ticket, must reuse the earphones issued at the time of ticket validation. In case of loss, replacement earphones may be purchased from the hostess for €0.50.

Art. 12 – At the end of the tour, passengers are kindly requested to return the earphones to the hostess.

CHILDREN ON BOARD

Art. 13 – Children up to 5 years of age travel free of charge. Children aged 5 to 17 years are entitled to a reduced fare.

Art. 14 – Strollers and prams may remain open only in the designated wheelchair area, where available and unoccupied, provided they are positioned facing backward, secured against the backrest, with brakes engaged and the frame fastened using the safety belt. Where the designated area is unavailable, or on vehicles without such a space, strollers and prams must be folded, and the child must be held by hand or carried. Wheelchair users always have priority use of the designated area.

ANIMALS ON BOARD

Art. 15 – Small pets are permitted on board provided they are equipped with appropriate safety devices, such as a leash and muzzle where required.

LUGGAGE

Art. 16 – Each passenger may carry one piece of luggage free of charge, provided it does not exceed 50 × 30 × 25 cm.

Art. 17 – Passengers must keep their luggage at their feet, ensuring that it does not inconvenience other passengers or obstruct passageways.

NORME COMPLEMENTARI GENERAL RULES

Art. 18 – Passengers must give priority seating to elderly passengers, persons with disabilities, pregnant women, and adults carrying young children.

Art. 19 – Passengers standing during the journey must hold onto the designated handrails or grab handles and must not stand on the steps near the doors. All passengers are required to behave respectfully and courteously at all times.

Art. 20 – The following are strictly prohibited:

    • Smoking (Italian Law No. 584/75);
    • Using the service without a valid and validated ticket;
    • Occupying more than one seat;
    • Damaging or soiling vehicles or infrastructure;
    • Throwing any objects inside the vehicle;
    • Behaving in a manner that disturbs other passengers;
    • Carrying out advertising or commercial activities without the company’s authorization;
    • Boarding while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs;
    • Operating the emergency door-opening mechanism without necessity;
    • Remaining standing when seats are available.

Passengers must also comply with all instructions, notices, and directions issued by company personnel for the safety and proper operation of the service.

The company accepts no liability for accidents or injuries suffered by passengers who fail to comply with the above provisions.

TIMETABLES AND CONNECTIONS

Art. 21 – Published timetables may be subject to change, including during their period of validity. Any changes will be communicated to passengers through official public notices.

Art. 22 – The company accepts no liability for delays, service disruptions, or route deviations caused by circumstances beyond its control, nor for any resulting inconvenience or damage to passengers.

LOST PROPERTY

Art. 23 – Any items found on board are deposited at the offices of STAV S.p.A., Corso Milano 168, Vigevano.
